My name is Anaya Kole, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I created ATM Mental Well-Being to offer a space where science, soul, and humanity can coexist. I provide psychiatric care for individuals across the lifespan — from children (6+ years old) and adolescents to adults and older adults. Every treatment plan is tailored to your life stage, identity, and lived experience. My work blends evidence-based psychiatric care with a deeply intuitive, holistic approach.

SCIENCE, SOUL, AND CLINICAL SKILLS

I ground my practice with the marriage of art and science. Art---attuned to tone, rhythm, and what’s left unsaid because details matter. Science---educated in psychiatric and mental health, family practice, urgent care, neuroscience, biology, and chemistry. The marriage that makes up, YOU. Together, they form the framework for seeing the whole picture — for honoring the complex, layered composition that is you. My approach is integrative, relational, and fiercely patient-centered. I see your story, not just your symptoms. I work with you — not on you — for a renewed sense of possibility. I challenge convention with a solid foundation. I’m not here to mimic the system — I’m here to reimagine it.

In 2012, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). I then continued my education to earn a Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences, where I graduated Cum Laude and honors level academic achievement in 2016 and 2019, respectively. In 2021, through Liberty University, I earned my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree where the program was integrated within the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) curriculum. My work has spanned from hospital-based stroke and neuro care to urgent care during the COVID-19 pandemic, to outpatient psychiatry treating individuals across the lifespan, (i.e., from children and adolescents to adults and elders).

MY EXPERIENCE

What truly sets me apart is how I practice. I’ve been a mentor, preceptor, and contributor to national empathy initiatives, including the “Empathy Huddles” project featured in the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing. I was honored with a DAISY Award, an international recognition program contributing to patient care and the embodiment of the nursing profession's values of empathy, compassion, and excellence.

Additionally, by the International Nurses Association, I was recognized as a Top Nurse in Kansas City (Missouri). However, the moments that matter most to me aren’t measured in corporate nonsense (though I’m permitted to use my favorite word(s)) — they’re felt in the stillness, in the trust that forms when someone like you finally feels safe enough to let your story be told.

Fluent in Bengali and Hindi, actively practicing Spanish, and always open to learning new languages and phrases — especially the ones that add a dose of flavor.
